Surprise Proposal ~ Otis & Kim

Otis contacted me about photographing his proposal to his girlfriend, Kim, in September, and I was immediately on board, because who doesn't want to be a part of such a special occasion! Of course he didn't want Kim to know, and because the two of them hadn't been living on Okinawa for too long, I was the only person on the island to know that he was proposing! He let me know when and where he wanted to propose and I was there!

I took my husband and almost 2 year old son along with as decoys so that Kim didn't start to get suspicious as to why I was just sitting there with a camera!

The ring that Otis picked out for Kim contains a piece of star sand, that can only be found on certain Okinwaian beaches!

The Brannon Family

I can't believe that we have been in Okinawa for 7 months now! I'm gonna be cheesy and say "Time flies when you are having fun!" and in our case, it really has, other then the heat difference, it feels like we just landed on the island a few months ago!

This was my first shoot in Okinawa that wasn't simply for personal use. And I'm in love!!

We met Michael, Chelsea and Jameson on the plane ride to Okinawa! We had our crazy toddler, and they had their crazy toddler, and said crazy toddlers helped entertain each other on the long ride, and we became friends immediately! We were then right down the hall in the hotel, and now we live just a few minutes away from each other!

Sometimes toddlers don't want to cooperate and actually smile for the camera, and that was definitely the case with this one! But with my lovely assistant, AKA my husband, standing behind me, doing the most ridiculous things, we got Jameson to smile!!

Okinawa Beaches

Oh the beach. Where to begin.. well first off the beach is defiantly my happy place, its always so calming no matter what kind of mood I'm in I'm always a little happier coming off the beach.

This is a blog post that I will be adding onto throughout the next 3 years, because there is always a new beach to be found on an Island!

Other then the beach directly behind our house, the first beach we took a trip to was actually right behind the Okinawa Aquarium, called Turtle Beach. The pristine clear blue waters and white sands only make my happy place happier!

Cherry Blossoms on Okinawa

When I moved to Maryland I was super excited to be so close to Washington DC to be able to see the Cherry Blossoms and go to the festival every year. We didn't end up going every year, because well, if you've been you know that its packed full of people! But we did go quite a few times, so moving to Okinawa was even more exciting because I get to be super close to all of the Cherry trees to see the blossoms, and go to all the festivals all over the Island.

This year we only went to one, we didn't exactly know our way around the Island yet, or where the festivals were taking place, so this year I only got a few photos of the trees, but they were still beautiful!

We drove up to Mt Yaedake to see the Cherry Blossom's there, and they did not disappoint!

Camp Lejeune Photographers Bridal Shootout

I've been oh so super behind on blogging! Trying to find time to blog, and take care of the house and child is exhausting! I truly don't know how mothers of multiples do it! Maybe I'll find out someday, but for now, I'll just keep the one!

Before we moved to Okinawa, I had the most incredible opportunity to get together with some of the other photographers in the Jacksonville, NC area and do this awesome bridal shootout! We had 3 models with their husbands out to have a good time and get some photos!

The light was incredible, and just working with all the other photographers was an awesome experience, we all gave a little advice here and there and just had some fun!
